4/15 post 2

Theres two things i want most.
One thing I want most in the world,
is to be the best I can be.
I want to be better at a lot of things I do.

I want to be better in school,
I have to work harder.

I want to be better at cheer,
I have to work harder.

Everything I want most requires more work,
harder work.
If I really want it I have prove it to myself.
It may not be easy, but it can happen.

The second thing, is to be a happier and nicer person overall.
both things take work.
But achieving the first thing will make the second even easier.

Life

Anything can happen,
you never know what will come next.
Before you know it,
half of your life will be gone.
You have to learn to expect things,
anything can happen.

Everyone has a different life,
and does different things.
There is no need to judge the way people are,
because you are not perfect either.
So what if they are not the same as you,
everyone has a different life.

What you may see when you look at someone,
could be completely different than what they really are.
Life isn't easy, but you have to work.
Sometimes things don't go your way,
but you have to learn to get over it.

Life isn't always fair,
life isn't always easy,
and life doesn't always go your way.

What Goodall did was really serious because she took someone else's hard work and took credit for it by not citing her sources properly. She didn't realize it wasn't cited properly until she was told something.  What I think makes it a little less serious is that she was noted about it and she said she is sorry and that she will discus it on her blog and fix her future editions. Goodall did a lot of research to be able to write this book, but when she was doing research her and her co-writer should have found the cited the sources as they went along. To correct it they need to go back and cite the sources that they used.
To go over the situation that had happened with her writing, and thing that was plagiarized needs to be noted so that she can go back and cite her sources. She did all of the research for her book, and found great things that could help it succeed, but she needed to take note of where each thing that she was using. By doing this, she could have at least gone back to be able to cite her sources, but she didn't so she was caught plagiarizing. To help the situation she was in, Goodall said that she would write about it in her blog and also said how sorry she was. Plagiarism is a serious thing, and even if you think you can get away with it, or you don't notice it most the time you will be caught and could get in serious trouble.

Out of the papers that I have written, I am choosing to do my Literary Analysis. I am choosing to do this because writing about the short story will be easier and more enjoyable than any of the other papers, so I feel like it will be better for me to write about that. Writing about the short story I am more likely to want to do and not feel like I'm just trying to hurry and get it done. I think all of my writing could improve, but by working on something that is easier at first then it will make my future papers even better.
As I am fixing things, two main things that I am going to focus on are conventions, and focusing on making sure the body supports the argument, and not telling the story as much, which Dr. D noted. I need to make sure I fix the comma splices, colons, etc. Also, to make sure my formatting is fixed where there was a little problem(stated by Dr. D).  Fixing these, I think that the paper will flow a lot better than before. I think that I need to fix this, because by starting with it, it will help me much more later.

I am choosing "Umbrella" by Rihanna. In this song, there is many techniques used. The techniques in this song give it a unique feel and give lots of visual and creation. These techniques give interpretations of many different visuals and feelings. The Umbrella its self is an interpretation in the entire song.
This song uses things like metaphor which shows that the umbrella is used for protection for those who are under it. The theme is that anyone who is under the umbrella is safe and that they will stand together. There is a lot of repetition through out the lines to show that she 'Rihanna' will be there through anything. The speaker in the song is Rihanna.

Next year, I think that Nervous Conditions would be a good book to be read. It was an overall pretty good book, and it wasn't something that was hard to want to read. It was a very engaging book. It is worth reading for next year, because it shows on how people acted a long time ago, and what there lives were like. I teaches a lot, and was a great book over all.
Reading this shows how lucky we really are. It shows that we need to be grateful for what we have, and how good our lives really are. We take so many things for granite, and this book really put things in a different perspective. Nervous Conditions was surprisingly a lot more enjoyable than what I though it would be. I had no problem reading the book or understanding it, because the work we did together help a lot.
Being able to choose what to do was great. I wish we could have done Lord of the Flies more like that because it helped a lot. We were able to choose the things that helped us the most, and everyone is different, so everyone learns differently. When we were able to choose what we wanted to do mostly everyone had done at least one thing differently, because the rather do one thing over the other. Also, being able to have to choice about the test was a lot better.
There one one main thing that I think should be done a little differently and it was the way we had our work days set up. We had a lot of time in class which was very helpful, but I think that it should have been spread out a little more. Most of our time was spend on C layer which was helpful until we got to the A and B layers. I think for next year you should just take at least one or two days from the C layers and add them to the work days for A and B layers. Other than that, I really liked the way you set this up.

Reading details:
A and B layers: 3 hours; watching films and writing papers.

Ch. 10 Nervous Conditions

Tambu heads off to Sacred Heart, with many different emotions, not knowing how to react to it. Everything was coming together for her, just falling right into place and she was proud. The drive on the way there was making her anxious and ready to get to the school and be declared as a young lady. There was a special lunch arranged in Tambu's  honor, which included chicken and a rich chocolate cake that eve Nyasha couldn't resist to eat and not worry about her weight. The school was amazing, and had everything Tambu could imagine.
She realized in disappointment that she was one of if not the only black in the entire school. She searched through the crowed but couldn't seem to find anyone else.  She has a medium sized room with six beds when there should only be four, and four wardrobes and two people will have to share. Babamukuru doesn't seem to be too happy about it.  She joined a lot of languages, and unfamiliar classes. Nyasha wrote Tambu a lot, and let her know things going on.
